Antonio Alonzo

Antonio Alonzo is a community builder and social entrepreneur from the New Orleans area. He served as the Global Shapers New Orleans Curator for the 2016-17 term, spearheading a recruitment strategy that grew membership by 400%. As the Vice-Chair for the New Orleans Food Policy Advisory Committee, Antonio shapes public policy to improve equity, opportunity, and collaboration in the local food system. He co-founded Dig Easy, an organization that provides food waste education and develops neighborhood-level compost projects. At Fund 17, Antonio is responsible for attracting, engaging, and retaining underrepresented entrepreneurs in their programs. In 2018, he facilitated a partnership between Fund 17 and Global Shapers New Orleans to launch a community business incubator in the Seventh Ward. The project was recognized by the Global Shapers "Shaping My City's Future" Challenge.
